Dear Parents / Carers
I would like to wish you all a happy, blessed and Holy Easter. The term has sped by as usual and we are now taking time to prepare for our last few days in school.
The students will all take part in Lenten Liturgies on Friday reflecting on the meaning of this time of preparation. The Paschal mystery of Easter celebrating the death and resurrection of Christ is the greatest liturgical event celebrating events from Palm Sunday, through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil. Please encourage your children to take part in these services.
McAuley has had a very successful term with many highlights. The Faith and Light party last Sunday showcased what is best about our school community. In the new term we will be welcoming our new Deputy Headteacher, Mr Paul Cleary. Mr Cleary joins us from St Bernard's school in Rotherham and it is wonderful to welcome a colleague from another Diocesan high school. Sadly we also say goodbye to Ms Smith who has been our Director of Finance and Facilities for nearly two years. She has done a superb job in helping move the school forward. I am sure you will have seen the vast improvement to our windows and doors on both sites following a successful bid to the Education Funding Agency. We have also improved site access, toilets, the upper school library, the food technology rooms and relocated other key areas in the school. We are very sorry to see Ms Smith go and wish her every success in the future.
Thank you to all staff, students and the wider community for your commitment to each other.
