Following a review of locker provision a decision has been taken to remove lockers on the Lower School site (currently used by years 7, 8 & 9) over the Spring Bank holiday.
There will be no lockers on the Lower Site when students return on Monday 6th June.
Students will need to plan for their day and have all the resources they need in their bags, which they will keep with them all day.
We would like to ask for parental support in this change by asking you to make sure student bags are kept to the smallest size possible and ideally of the style that students wear on their back via two shoulder straps.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) have produced the alternative services available for pupils in lieu of the morning 568 service not running from September 2016.  We understand this will mean pupils having to catch two buses and some pupils having to set off earlier.  We are disappointed in the decision to remove the service and the School has worked hard to find viable solutions in order to keep this service running, however, this has not been possible.

To support the safety of the 1700 young people and 200 staff who arrive and leave the school site each day access to cars driven by parents/carers is prohibited between the hours of 8am-9.30am and 3pm-4.30pm.
The vast majority of parents/carers support this aspect of school operations and do not access any of the school sites between these times however a minority still drive onto site, creating safety and control issues for students and staff.

As part of the continual review of safety, security and safeguarding changes have been made to how access is gained to the school on both the lower and upper site. These changes mean that specific gates will by default be closed and will only open at specified times during the school day, at which point additional duty staff will be present. These improvements will make access to the sites more restricted and all parents, visitors etc will be directed to the main entrances by clearer signage.

Our review process is continual and should further changes be identified as beneficial further notices will be placed here.
